Get answers to common questions about Pigmentation Correction.
Most clients need a series of treatments—typically four to eight sessions—depending on pigment depth, treatment chosen and skin type. Maintenance and daily sun protection are essential; your provider will create a timeline tailored to your goals.
Discomfort is usually minimal. Topical brighteners cause little to no pain; peels or energy treatments can cause temporary stinging, redness or mild peeling for a few days. We prioritize barrier support to reduce downtime and patient discomfort.
We safely treat Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI with customized protocols. Darker skin tones require careful selection of actives and energy settings to avoid post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; a consultation and patch test ensure the safest effective approach.
Results develop gradually: topical brighteners often show improvement in four to twelve weeks, while peels or laser can accelerate visible changes but still require multiple sessions. Expect continued improvement with consistent care and strict sun protection.
Aftercare focuses on barrier repair and sun avoidance: use gentle cleansers, prescribed brightening serums, moisturizers and a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Avoid picking, abrasive exfoliation, and unnecessary heat; follow your clinician's timeline for returning to active ingredients.
Sun spots often respond well; melasma is more complex and can be stubborn. Melasma typically needs combination therapy, hormonal evaluation, strict photoprotection, and ongoing maintenance to prevent recurrence. We'll design an individualized plan based on diagnosis.
